Is Leasing / Renting ever a Good Option???

A lot of  HOMEOWNERS have experienced the effects of today's market and find themselves in a position where they want (or have) to move, but can't sell their home because it is under water. In many cases, renting is a great solution. Did you know that apartment rentals are down and residential rentals are up?  Leasing allows homeowners to keep their home while bringing in income that allows them to pay the mortgage and in some cases have some positive cash flow every month. As the market rebounds, they can later re-evaluate selling their home. Securing a good tenant is a major factor to this being a worthwhile situation, so don't go about it haphazardly. Update on Georgia's Real Estate Market

In the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Home Quarterly , buyers and sellers received some very encouraging news. Some highlights are featured below. First Multiple Listing Service data for a nine-county area composed of Cherokee, Cobb, Clayton, Douglas, DeKalb, Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett and Paulding counties indicates that buyers are returning to the market, according to Charlotte Scars, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Atlanta. The listing service reports that total inventory of properties for sale in September 2012 numbered 16,550, down 34.3 percent from last year, "and indicative of a lack of supply that has created pent-up demand for properly priced homes in the right locations."
